DR YAMAMOTO has developed  many specialty lenses for KONE (KERATOCONUS) Patients.  Our staff refers to these lenses as the YAMACONE lenses.
KERATOCONUS : Keratoconus is a condition when the central corneal tissue begin to thin.  This thinning results in the pushing forward of the thinned corneal tissue resulting in poor vision. This condition is best corrected with Gas Perm contact lenses.
Dr Harvey Yamamoto has dedicated his entire life to finding ways to help his patients with Keratoconus.  Dr. Yamamoto's quest to improve the quality of life for his Keratoconic patients after 50 years of R&D has led to the creation of the YamaKone IC soft contact lens.  So if you happen to be one of these patients then come visit Dr. Yamamoto as so many thousands of patients have been doing for many years.
Dr. Yamamoto developed the renowned 'YAMAKONE GP' lenses in 1973 in his workshop. This design is made out of gas perm lenses and he has fitted over 20,000 patients from around the world in these lenses.
Dr. Yamamoto is a visionary who has developed many innovative custom contact lenses for his patients. Dr Yamamoto first began to tinker with PMMA (hard contact lenses) in his garage in the early 1960's.
If you or a loved one has this condition - call our office to make an appt. to see if you are a candidate for these comfortable lenses.
There are many other patients that these lenses can benefit.  POST-LASIK failures have benefited with these lenses.  Patients who have PMD (Pellucid Marginal Degeneration) can also be fitted with these lenses. The benefits are limitless.
BREAKING ANNOUNCEMENT:  With the addition of the DAC ALM air bearing lathe during 2022, We are now able to offer a quick turn around time for your specialty lenses.
